Moose Report

We have wrapped up for the season in Fort Smith and finished with good results with moose hunting that capped off a fun season.

The rut started of slow and really picked up around Sept 25/26 and we had some trophy bulls answer the call and with a little luck we connected. Highlights included;

1st time hunter with us Jason Leslie taking first moose and with a muzzle loader!

Another 1st time hunter with us - Matt Ward - taking a moose 3rd Day, Bear 5th day and fish everyday!

First time hunters with us Bob Vogt & Art Spuhl made a long drive to Fort Smith from St Louis. Bob Scored on a nice bull with guide Derek Martin hunting out of the lodge at Andrew Lake.

1st time hunters with us Rick Marshall and Shane Mascarin hunted on a spike camp and had luck calling in a smaller bull, but could not connect on 2 much larger bulls that were just out of range. Enjoying their experience they have already rebooked for 2009!

Returning hunters (7th consecutive moose hunt with us!) Pierre Frigon and Gord Trenholm scoring keeping their success streak alive - 6 years in a row! They have already rebooked a 10 day trip for next year. This makes a record 8 consecutive moose hunts with us!

Returning hunter, Jeff Stone (4th moose hunt with us) taking his largest bull yet over 193 B&C with his bow. This rack stretches over 54" and has massive points and will be a new record book entry in the top 5 all time for Alberta.

Overall a fun season with some nice trophies and memories taken home.
