Exclusive Black Bear Hunts
Spring hunts in our exclusive area bordering Wood Buffalo National Park offer "active bait" or "spot & stalk" hunts for some of Alberta’s largest black bears. This is a 2 bear area, with up to 25% of our hunters taking color phase and skulls averaging 18-20". Archery, Muzzleloader & Rifle.
Spring Season mid May – mid June / Fall Season September - October
Hunter pick-up is at the airport in Fort Smith, NWT. GST & Licenses extra. There are 7 different bear camps in our exclusive 5000+ square mile outfitting area. Most camps accommodate 2-4 hunters per week. Camp Accommodation consists of lodges, cabins, outpost tent camps and spike camps.
· Hunting licenses will be provided in Fort Smith, NWT and are $400
(Includes Hunting license and 2 bear tags) fishing licenses are included in bear/fishing combinations. Wolf permit available $25, no limit on wolves taken, success minimal.
· Wounded Bear Policy – All wounded bears that are not recovered are considered a kill!
· 5 Hunting Days – most hunting is done in permanent and portable tree stands over bait. Some "spot & stalk" hunting is done along river banks and lake shores.
· Full service / Full guided hunt – all meals, snacks & refreshments provided in camp. All trophy care and preparation for shipping included. Export permits are provided at no charge.
· Hunting Gear – Rifle / Archery / Black Powder (we have powder, specify brand)
· Hunters are responsible for providing safety harness.
· Sleeping Bag
· Clothing – Temperature (Lows 30 – 40 F, Highs 60 – 80 F.)
· Rain Gear
· Camo – no restrictions on color / blaze – recommend Realtree All Purpose Gray / X-TRA Brown / Mossy Oak Break up
· Waterproof boots – not necessarily for hiking, very minimal walking
· Cameras – Video / Still / Film
· Fishing Gear – Medium Action Rods – 8 – 15lb test line, spoons, crankbaits, spinners (Rod & Tackle only, we provide life jackets, landing nets.) Fishing is available on all hunts that are booked as a "Hunting & Fishing" Combination.
· All Alcoholic beverages must be bought or ordered
· Floatplane Base Camp – Access by vehicle, daily transportation by truck and quad.
· Salt River Camp/ Floatplane Base camp – Accessed by Helicopter, daily transportation by Quad.
· Slave River Camps – Access by Aircraft/boat, daily transportation by boat
· Andrew Lake Lodge / North Leland Lake Cabins/ South Leland & Boquene Lake Outpost Camps – Access by Aircraft, Daily transportation by boat.
